If My Writing Means Something to You, Stay With Me.
I write essays.
About sports sometimes.
About life often.
About loss, perseverance, family, people, moments, books, movies, memories, and anything else that makes me stop and think.
I don’t know what I’ll write about next.
That’s intentional.
I have learned that my best writing comes when I don’t force it into a category, a schedule, a predetermined length, or someone else’s expectations.
Something catches my attention.
A sentence in a book.
A line in a movie.
Something someone says.
A sporting moment.
A memory that unexpectedly returns.
Something that doesn’t sit quite right with me.
I let it follow me.
Eventually, if I’m fortunate, I discover the story inside the story—the deeper meaning that made me notice it in the first place.
Then I write.
My hope is always the same:
To see something differently.
To feel something deeply.
To find something true.
And perhaps to improve someone’s life—even if the life being changed is sometimes my own.
Why Subscribe?
Social media is wonderful for discovering people.
It isn’t always very good at helping us find them again.
Algorithms decide what appears in your feed. A post can reach you today and the next one can disappear completely.
Email is different.
If you’d like to continue reading my work, subscribing gives me a simple way to reach you directly when I publish something new.
No need to search for me.
No need to hope an algorithm puts the next essay in front of you.
It simply arrives.
What I Promise You
I will respect your attention.
I won’t write something merely because I think I need to post.
I won’t stretch an idea to make it longer.
I won’t add words simply to fill space.
I won’t promise that every essay will be about wrestling, sports, grief, inspiration—or anything else.
I won’t promise a publishing schedule.
What I can promise is this:
When I have something I believe is worth saying, I will do my best to say it truthfully.
Some essays may take a few minutes to read.
Others may ask more of you.
Some may make you think.
Some may make you remember.
Some may make you disagree with me.
And occasionally, I hope one finds you at exactly the moment you needed it.
Stay With the Writing
Everything I publish here will remain available to read.
There is no requirement to subscribe.
But if you’ve read something I’ve written that has stayed with you, and you’d like to make sure you don’t miss what comes next, I’d be honored to have you join me.
Enter your email address and new essays can come directly to you when they’re published.
No algorithm between us.
Just writer and reader.
